I've seen the thread on "Casino", but nothing on "American Casino". I'm really hooked on this show, but unfortunately it seems as though they've stopped taping for the time being due to the death of the VP.
It certainly was a surprise to hear about his death. My wife and I enjoy the show. We thought Tata was a bit of a jerk at times but he made the show interesting.
I thought he was a total b@stard when I first started watching the show. But then I realized that a lot of the times he was kidding around. I think him being a jerk was a way to get his team motivated. He knew how far he could go with it, and who he could use it with.
I really love this show and I hope it can go on as successfully after Tata's untimely death. According to the NY Post, filming has already started up again, starting with Tata's memorial service. From the article :
"Casino staffers became worried about him when he didn't show up for work.
Cameras are expected to roll at a memorial service for Tata in the hotel today and it is believed that some staffers may have already volunteered to appear on camera for one-on-one interviews during the last few days to talk about the loss of their friend.
"Other aspects related to Michael's passing will be in an upcoming episode of 'American Casino' and will be treated sensitively, with an eye toward the legacy he left behind," a source close to the show told The Post yesterday."
I also think that Dread Zeppelin's cover of Viva Las Vegas is fantastic and can't wait for the single release.
New season starts on 9/24. Looks like they won't address Tata's death until the third episode.
