8/16? Did it get pushed back?

I had written down 7/9 somewhere.

There looks like enough extras there to warrant a 2-disc release.

I hope they don't plan to squeeze all that onto 1 disc.

What, no deleted scenes? I thought there were some on the French 3-disc set, as well as a commentary. That one was i French, of course, but hopefully Jeunet will "translate" himself.

I'm pi$$ed that the short film is not included, but will still buy this disc for sure.
We can only pray that the dts track is included, and the extra features spill over to a second disc.
Thanks for the heads up Patrick [IMG]

In Canada the DVD will be released by TVA International in two different editions on April 30th (!).

There will be a 1 disc edition which will be an English one. Not sure on features on that.

There will also be a 2 disc French only edition which will be found, at first, only in Quebec then perhaps later in the rest of the country.

We;ll be reviewing this as soon as we receive it sometimes next week.

Hmm... will the 3-disc TVA version contain all of the features included on the Miramax version described above (minus English subs)?
It looks as though the U.S. version will contain some features not included in the 3-disc TVA release. I may have to buy both... [IMG]

There is no such thing as a three disc edition. I don't know where this came from but it isn't true.

TVA International were the first people to release this film in North America and pretty much like Le Pacte des Loups (Brotherhood of the Wolf) U.S. studios decided that there was money to be made by releasing these films in the U.S.! If you want a full edition, the 2 disc one will be it. Take for example the Ginger Snaps edition of Canada compared to the U.S. one. The canadian version is better in everyway whether its in image, sound and features.

I doubt very much that Amelie and Brotherhood of The Wolf will get any real special treatement compare to the Can. versions.

This is much better than I hoped for - I had convinced myself the U.S. release would be bare-bones.

    Thanks for the update, Patrick.

Great news! Would have loved a commentary, of course, but this is a LOT more than I expected!

This is starting to look very similar to the In The Mood For Love situation, with different countries' editions having different extras. Should we all wait for the Criterion, then? [IMG]
I don't think I'll be getting the R1 disc. The upcoming UK two disc set will at least have a commentary track.

They couldn't secure the rights for the short film to be included in the region 1 DVD (that includes the Canadian versions).

Yes my bad on that 1 disc English version in Canada on April. It will be French only.

Yes, Canadians, please let me hear about that 2 disc version when it arrives. I might go for that instead if I can make it work for my mostly non-French speaking self...meaning subtitles in English where needed.
If everything else is the same between the 2 (same extras as US version with same subtitles) plus more stuff on the 2 disc (even if it's French only - like commentary) I might still consider it since I'm expanding my French slowly. [IMG]

So, compared to the French 2-disc SE, we're missing (AFAIK):

DTS track, Jeunet commentary, "the world of Amélie" featurette, production notes, bloopers of Audrey Tautou, picture gallery, the short-film "Foutaises", and DVD-Rom section.

Was there deleted scenes? I didn't see that listed for the French SE...

Not too bad, but it would have been nice to get the commentary.
