Posted this info in another thread, but I thought this could be a little more obvious.

Toys R Us/Amazon have their annual Buy 2 get 1 free deal going on.

This week it's for GameCube games. Next week it's for both the PS2 and Xbox.

For Xbox, I'm thinking ESPN NBA2K4, SSX3 & Top Spin/Simpsons Hit & Run

For PS2, Castlevania, the new Smackdown, and still thinking about the 3rd game

For PS2:
$39 games

$49 games

For Xbox:

For GameCube:
$39 games

Edit: Fixed the links, I think.

These links dont work for me. Sounds like a good deal. SSX3, Top Spin and Links for xbox would be my choices.

Can you mix titles from different consoles? If so, my choices would be Castlevania (my favorite series of all time), SSX3, and Rebel Strike.

If you can only choose from one console, I'm not sure what I'd get because the Xbox link above doesn't work.

The way I've always done it is to buy "filler" games in-store and return them over the next month or so as the games I want come out. I just snagged a nice job so I'll be going for 4-5 sets of 3(for a total of 12-15). I wonder if that's too ambitious for the holidays though, considering that many of my anticipated games so far haven't been what I had hoped for.

In store, I don't think it matters. The lowest priced game will be the free game.

Online, you only get to choose from the $49.99 games.

And why some of these games are still priced at $50 is a mystery to me

Dean, for the online offer, you're limited to the games in the list. In-store, you should be able to pick any released game.

I don't live in the US, and last year we didn't have this sale either. I will actually be in the Washington this week. Can you buy games cross platform? I want to get a few games but one is ps2 and the other two are gc games.

BTW when does the sale end?

Thanks

The Gamecube sale ends 10/25, the PS2 and Xbox sale starts 10/26 and the postings on other boards suggest you can mix, but only between PS2 and Xbox as the Gamecube sale will be over.

Yup, Doug is correct. I was at one of the stores today and they verified the same information: The final day of the Gamecube sale is this Saturday. The PS2/Xbox sale starts this Sunday and ends the following Sunday.

I'll be picking up Castlevania, SSX3, and Crimson Skies.

Looks like Amazon has removed a few of the new releases from the eligible games list for PS2 & Xbox.

Not sure if you can mix online or not.

Also, I'm curious as to if I could purchase three Xbox games during the sale (which ends November 2) and return/exchange two of them for two different games that will be released on November 4 and thus aren't part of the week-long sale (True Crime & Project Gotham Racing 2). If so, I'd be able tp get each of the two games (and another of my choice) for $33.00 instead of $50.00. Has anyone tried something like this in the past? FYI- I'd be doing this in-store and not online.

Store policy gives you 45 days to return them. You might even be able to get longer but I haven't tried. They've always been cool with me when I've swapped out games, but if you're worried, get a gift reciept and do an even exchange.
