Hmmm... Is that 3-fer-10 deal working for anyone? It looked like it would work for me when I threw a ton of titles in my shopping cart yesterday, but when I went back today to trim down my list for checkout, I don't see the promo discount anymore even though the deal still seems to exist. I tried throwing some other new title in there to see if that's needed to (re)trigger the promo, but no dice. Also tried making sure I had a multiple of 3 for the deal, but still nothing.

Do I really need to empty out my cart and throw *all* of them back in for the deal to work?

Thanks.

EDIT: Well, I just tried moving everything to "save for later" and then moving 3 of them back into my cart to see if that works. Nope, nada. That's pretty annoying if I have to go through all them pages of the deal section to add everything back in order to get the deal to work again -- and I don't even know if that would actually work (and all this just for a bunch of titles that I would normally not bother w/). :rolleyes

Looks like the 3 for $10 sale is pretty much over and done with. It's been running for some time now. I just tried it again myself and no-go. :frowning:

Amazon's deals never give a 'sale ends on such and such a date' notice and they can end at any time. I've seen some of their sales run for 3 days or less and then they're over.

Thing is they still have that sale listed in their Movies main page/section -- and the page is apparently not pulled like usual. Only that the deal does not seem to work when I checkout.

Oh well. Maybe it's just a temporary glitch or something. I'll just keep the batch of titles in my "save for later" section for now and just place my order for something else to go along w/ the Nightmare Before Christmas Blu-ray (w/ the new lower price).

FYI, I just messaged Amazon's customer service about this. I'm gonna tell them how pissed I am w/ it if they really did pull the deal, but still left the deal page fully intact and very visible in their main section. Would be one thing if the deal completely disappeared when it stopped working, but it's (mis)leading folks like me to completely waste our time rummaging through that big selection, which I would not have bothered otherwise.

thought I read that because of the confusion they extended the sale to the 25th.

You might be thinking of the 3-for-2 BD sale, not the 3-for-$10 DVD sale. I actually received an email from them a couple days earlier about a mistake they made w/ the BD sale and the consequent extension to the 25th.

As for the 3-for-$10 DVD sale, apparently, it is still supposed to be going on (and is why it still shows up on Amazon's Movies section main page), but for some reason (maybe some bug w/ their checkout process), the discount is not showing up during checkout. I just corresponded w/ them over the last couple days, and they told me to just go ahead and place a qualified order and then let them know to fix it after checkout, if the discount is not automatically applied.

If anyone else wants to use that sale, I suggest you try asking them first to make sure it's ok before placing your order IF the discount does not show up automatically at checkout.
