    Well,

I'm 15 years and 3 months old.. does that make me the youngest crt'er out there??

I bought this thing for $125, and it works great!

My next buy will probably be an HT PC..

My six-year-old just installed his Runco and seems quite pleased with its performance, and my four-year-old is patiently awaiting delivery on a new front projector, although she won't tell me what brand.

I was installing HT and music systems in California, and I installed for a RICH man who lived in a 18 million dollar house.
On top of his Dedicated Theater room(Top of the line THX Klipsch, Kenwood, yes Kenwood!, Runco, Faroudja, you name it) he had 3 other surround systems throughout the house which would put most of our main HT's to shame. And sure enough his 4 year old son had a very nice Runco Projector in his room, but was lacking in the audio he had only 6.1[IMG]

Where did you get it for $125?

I am curious about CRT projectors. I have never seen one before, not even in ads, but I have heard that they are very heavy and difficult to carry around, and very difficult to install. Is this true?

Nathan,if everything goes as planned I hope to get some sort of projector in a month or so.I cannot decide between a lamp and a crt though, just from reading at avs forum the crt is obivously better, but also sounds MUCH HARDER to set up.How hard was yours to do,I assume this was the first projector you set up anyway.

    Well Chad, my brother--

How hard was it to set up?

    I don't know!

See, my Dad is an Audio/Video enginner and he sets up projectors ranging from $5,000 to $100,000 all the time, so I called him upstairs and within a few minutes it was done..

If you really want to get technical here; a RPTV has CRTs in it and I was 15 when I purchased that. So- I guess I would also qualify for that same distinction. [IMG]

No, it's his new elitist attitude that he's developed in the past couple of months. Should we expect anything less?

What's funny to me Dan is that he's gloating about having a CRT (in a bedroom? Which screen? The throw distance can't be good) yet he's still using DPL. [IMG]

My wife and I plan to pump dolby digital 5.1 via ultrasound through her belly. Screw the heartbeat stuff, I want my kid to come out with an appreciation for positional sound.
Maybe we'll set up Barney videos in his crib on a ceiling- projected FPTV arrangement....any tips [IMG]

I have two daughters. The eldest, a 22-year-old back east, is into school. The youngest, a 10-year-old here in Los Angeles, has just traded in her Runco DTV-1200 for that new Madrigal projector with 9-inch CRTs. She says she likes color-corrected lenses. She feels no need to upgrade from the Krell electronics.

    Jason,

Just get a plasma tv and hang it over the crib. Be sure to use saftey cables just in case. Don't forget to mount the aura bass shakers underneath the crib either!
