I've used Download Accelerator for over a year now and have been happy with its performance. It does a good job of downloading from multiple servers (thus, providing a faster download). However, I'm sick of it's ads and pop-up messages.

Any suggestions for (free) alternatives to Download Accelerator?

I've used Netzip's Download Demon before. The free version does have ads, but I never noticed any popups.

It's not free, but getting broadband service will definitely speed up your downloads [IMG]

I'm using download accelerator plus and I haven't had any problems with ads or popups. The combination of adaware, my firewall and Pop-Up Stopper (all of which were free) has eliminated all of that stuff.

I've been using GoZilla (Which I don't think has multiple source downloads like DA) but the new version is just AWFUL.
I used to use GetRight, which I liked much better, but had problems where I'd randomly get "Can't connect to server" errors which wouldn't go away until I rebooted, even though I wasn't trying to download anything.
I might give it another try, because I hated Download Accelerator and now hate GoZilla. [IMG]

NetAnts or Kontiki are two other download managers, the former, apparently, is ad free.

NetVampire is what I used to use before I got broadband.
Haven't bothered with one since then.
