I'm surprised nobody's talking about the Indians trading Roberto Alomar to the Mets. As a Met fan, I must say I'm pretty satisfied with the trade, getting a future Hall of Famer in the lineup to give some offensive support to Piazza. With Ventura gone, that means Edgardo Alfonzo moves to 3rd. The infield defense will be superb, with Ordonez and Alomar in the middle infield making some incredible plays. And best of all, the Mets didn't have to spend mega bucks to improve their team, unlike a certain other New York baseball team. ;)

Looks like a good trade for both sides. It will be interesting to see how Escobar pans out in Cleveland. I picked him up in the summer for my fantasy baseball league, hoping they'd put him to more use, but no such luck THIS year. Hopefully in the years to come. Could someone fill in the rest of the players in the deal?

How old is Alomar now? certainly has many good years left I believe.
