Yeah, I read that on Bill Hunt's site and I'm excited to buy that 4K/3D release as I watched this film 3 times in a movie theater.

I do know that Fox, prior to the closing of their acquisition by Disney, was really pushing theatres to play this in 3D.

I will definitely order this. But after seeing this in IMAX 3D and being blown away, I'm afraid my system will not do it justice.

It does to a lot of us here so I’ll be cancelling my UK version and going with this one which will be $30-35 on street date. That’s a bargain as I would have purchased both separately.

Funny how he couldn't use that power to get us a domestic 3D of T2. But I guess he's not working for that studio any more, so they don't really care about keeping him happy.

From Academy Award winners James Cameron & Jon Landau, and visionary filmmaker Robert Rodriguez comes ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL, an epic adventure of hope and empowerment. When Alita (Rosa Salazar) awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize, she is taken in by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate doctor who realizes that somewhere in this discarded cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past. When deadly and corrupt forces come after Alita, she discovers a clue to her past - she has unique fighting abilities that those in power will stop at nothing to control. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family and the world she's grown to love.

Exactly. Disney is attached at the hip to Cameron for what, a decade until he supposedly finishes all 47 "Avatar" sequels?

If the Big Guy wants them to toss in a 3D disc with "Alita", Big Guy gets it! :D

I don't get why they wouldn't just use the ATMOS mix on the 3D and standard discs and save the trouble and cost of a different codex. It is not like the ATMOS mix is incompatible with standard Blu-ray discs. Why not standardize the audio codex across all the BD formats and quit futzing around and acting like including it on 4K but not on other discs is some sort of incentive to upgrade.

It isn't any deal breaker for me but, to me, it doesn't make any economic sense to be including a different codex on two discs when it could just be standardized.

If they have different audio on the 4K and 3D releases, they'll get you to buy both separately!

    Oh wait... ;)
