The interesting thing that JJ Abrams does is reinvent the show every season.

Reinvent? Thats being generous, given the cheap tactics Abrams used.

All he did was exactly what comics have been doing...forever! Except it worked in comics...here it just comes off as a cheap ratings / attention grabber.

We go from seeing this woman on every single mission to - oops! Shes *just gone*. But now she's back! And its two years later! But don't worry, not much has changed that cant be fixed in the first 60 min.

They couldn't think of any great way to keep up the Syd / Vaughn energy / tension so they got him married.

They couldn't think of any reason for Sydney not to have killed Slone in the finale...so they have him pretend to be a good guy.

They didnt want to punish Jack for all his stupidity, so they locked him up for an episode.

This is not "good writing" no matter what your criteria is. They had written themselves into a corner even they couldnt escape from. So they used the cheapest trick in the book - time displacement to get the characters EXACTLY where they wanted them - and it doesn't have to make any sense whatsoever.

Lets not even start on the whole 'amnesia' angle right now. Thats another cheap tactic with "How Convenient" written all over it. Anything that doesn't make sense in the show will, undoubtedly, be explained - at least in part - by this mysterious amneisa.

I love trying to figure out what they are selling. Last season it was Nokias, Sam Adams, and Fords....hmm....I rember seeing some blatant logo inserts, but can't remember if it was anything new.
