    hello

    I am looking for Akira Kurosawa's movies that are offically license in any region with sub. i know Seven Samurai have been released in region 1, but is there any others which are out(in any region with sub) or any news on a up-comming release?? please let me know

    Off the top of my head; Yojimbo, Sanjuro, The hidden fortress and High and low is out on Criterion, and Rashomon is coming the end of march.

    Also, Ran is released from Fox lorber, but I hear the disc is not good, and I also kept hearing rumours about re-releases, so I didn't bother with it.

    In Europe The British Film Institute (BFI) has released some Kurosawa DVD's:
    Seven Samurai, Throne Of Blood, Yojimbo and Rashomon.
    To be released in March:
    Hidden Fortress and Stray Dog
    Edit: Rhapsody In August has been released by another company.

    In Spain we have: "Redbeard", "Madadayo" and "Ikuru" as well, but awful DVDs and no english subtitles.

    Well, I saw in a Criterion catalog, that Dodes Ka'den was listed alongide Rashomon as coming soon, unless things changed and they dumped it.

    I'll be the first to confirm that the RAN disc sux bad. Bad picture quality, bad sound quality. NOTHING went into that disc, but good movie!
