I own the Region 2 dvd and though the extras are great, the video transfer is mediocre at best.

By the way, Paramount does own the Region 1 dvd rights which was confirmed by Martin Blythe. However, it goes without saying that the elements are in need of restoration and a decision by Paramount still has to be made as far as budgetary concerns so a Region 1 dvd release won't happen in the immediate future.
