By my count there are 86 (87 if you count that Canadian version of "Giant") of the Top 100 available on DVD. I have just completed my collection with my recent (and costly) acquisition of "Wuthering Heights" and was wondering if anyone out there knows if/when some of those other titles will be available?

Obviously we know "E.T." will be out in October and we know "Star Wars" will be out in a few years; but I'm wondering about some of these other titles...

    Schindler's List
    Sunset Boulevard
    The African Queen
    The Grapes of Wrath
    Mutiny on the Bounty
    Bringing Up Baby
    Yankee Doodle Dandy
    The Jazz Singer
    Treasure of the Sierra Madre
    King Kong
and of course, Raiders of the Lost Arc

Any news is much appreciated. And I don't think I have to say that I'm not the only one who's excited about the new versions of "Cuckoo's Nest", "Amadeus", "Unforgiven" and "Singin' in the Rain"!

    Thanks all!

Schindler's List is 10 years old next year... Methinks we can expect a nice anniversary edition.

Sunset Boulevard is due in the 4th quarter of this year. Kong is supposedly being remastered for release next year. I've heard rumors about "Bringing Up Baby" & "Treasure of the Sierra Madre", but nothing concrete, and I haven't heard anything about the others.

I only have a Region 1 player. Are these other regions on the NTSC format or PAL? It would be worth it to get some other Region discs, but not if I have to upgrade my TV...

    Thanks all for your replies/help.

Matt, you can also buy a DVD Player that does PAL-NTSC conversion. I believe that the Malata does this, but you can also buy modded players of better known brands.
For instance, www.jvb.nl is a Dutch/US based on-line store. I bought my modded Pioneer DVD Player at their retail store, I think they are not too expensive.
Some of their JVC Players play PAL discs on NTSC-only televisions.
BTW: Almost all European R2 discs are PAL, most Australian (R4) are too, Japanese (R2) discs are NTSC however.

I agree with Mark on the African Queen, beautiful cover and a great movie to watch.
