I have my speakers set to "small" and the subwoofers Xover bypassed. My mains are bookshelf's and are rated to 52Hz. My center is rated down to 70hz and my surrounds to 80hz. Since having my receiver, I have left the receiver's Xover at the 80Hz default. Considering my speaker ratings, should a bump it up to 100hz? I don't want to missing any info. I have tried the 100Hz setting and notice that the sub sounds a bit bumped up, but not to the point of directional. Opinions please

Thnx Gov

you usually want it double the lowest freq. your mains can play for 2 channel, and about 20 or so above the HIGHEST surround speaker.

In my case. I guess 100Hz would be the best then. I have never heard it put that way before, thanx

I've heard 1.5x the lower frequency extension on your mains. I guess there is no ONE answer to this. At 1.5x, the cross-over for your mains should be around 75Hz, so bump that up to 80Hz.
