Advice on subwoofer upgrade? (1 Viewer)

I have a SVS 25-31PCi now, and would like some thoughts on possible upgrade options. How much of an upgrade would each of the following be -


PB-2000/PC-2000 $800

HSU VTF3-MK5 $950 (with shipping + tax)

Reaction Audio Echo 15 $1000

PSA V1500 $1100


I've listed these in increasing price. Another option is a DIY sub built by private seller who's offering it to me for $600 (based on 18" driver from Stereo Integrity) but I'll need to supply my own amp and total price will be close to above - it has a larger driver but will lack the advantages of above subs (warranty, auto on/off etc).


Finally would a PB12-NSD be a significant upgrade, they sometimes show up in the SVS outlet.

Why can't you buy an external amp with auto on/off?

If the driver works now...it will work for a long time.

Get the SI sub. What type of box is it in? Size? Alignment? Tuning frequency (if applicable)?


I run dual 15" DIY subs with an external amp. I just leave the amp on.
