I am considering getting a new set of surround speakers, mostly for multichannel SACD purposes. I am currently using small Sony HTIB speakers. I am not looking for lots of bass or anything - I just want a decent 2 way that I can feed a full range SACD signal without worrying about it.

I was considering (dare I say it) those small cast aluminum speakers they sell at Radio Shack. They are about the size I want, the price is right, and I thought I heard somewhere that they are halfway decent speakers for the $$$.

Is anybody else using these? Is there something else I should consider? If it matters I am using JBL studio series on my front soundstage.

    Thanks!

Accessories4less has an AR PS2052 PERFORMANCE for $69.99 per pair. Depending on shipping costs, these might be a better buy.

Thanks for the suggestion but those are much bigger than what I was considering ( 12 x 8 x 9 vs. 7 x 5 x5). I am sure they would be a better option but I just don't have the room for them.

Has anybody used the RCA / Optimus PRO-X44AV? I will probably just buy a pair anyway.
