    Guys

I recently got a sound level meter from Ratshack and would like to set my channel levels on my Denon 4802. I set the SPL as recommended in the Denon manual and set all 8 channels till my meter read 75db. However, if I use my Video Essentials disc and check the channel levels, the test tones emitted from the disc are not reading the same levels as those from my AVR. Which ones should I be using as a reference, my AVR or VE's?

    Thanks, Dave.

You should set the levels based on where the source material is coming from. If you want your DVD source to be level matched use the VE disk in your DVD player to set levels.
