I bought a house with 4 Klipsch in wall speakers installed (IW-100 or IW-200). I just got a Harmon Kardon AVR 325 and now I'm in search of a center channel speaker that matches the in wall speakers. I'm new to HT and find these message boards very helpful.

What do you think of the SC-1? They don't sell it anymore but I can find them on ebay. I'm not familiar with the Klipsch line. Is there a more current Klipsch center speaker I should look at?

    Thanks in advance,
    Mark

Why not just order another single in-wall?

Getting another in wall isn't an option because of the way the room is configured. I really need a portable speaker.

The IW series uses a older non-horn tweeter, so any of the current horn-based centers will have a different "sound" to them. This could cause imaging problem in the front soundstage, or it could work fine. Would be best if you could get one to try out before buying one.

I do have the SC-C1 center with the matched KSB 3.1 fronts, and it is an great center channel speaker. Dialog is always clear and understandable.
