I'm a current webtv user that is computer iliterate.
Going to get a real pc, my budget is no more than $600.
Is this a good starter system? Also want to learn computer basics such as excel, etc.

That computer should be fine. It's not an uber gaming machine or anything, but will work fine for websurfing & office tasks and casual game play.

I hope you have Office or Excel, cause they're pretty expensive and you might want to consider that with your budget.

Also, check out the deals forum here on HTF. Every week they have some great starter systems from Dell that you can get into for the $400 mark with coupons. SOme of them even come with monitors.
