I agree with dave brogli and everyone else posting in the other thread and applaud all the efforts that the HTF has made. You guys do a terrific job, and there's no better place for forums and DVD release info on the net.

However, I was disappointed to see an advertisement for a DVD that is not only presented in a modified aspect ratio, but also (and maybe even worse) COLORIZED.
The ad is for the Laser's Edge store and has five DVD covers, one of which is Disney's THE ABSENT-MINDED PROFESSOR. It makes me sad that I won't be able to buy this film, as well as the other Disney films released that day, because buying edited DVDs sends the wrong message to the studios. Is it really necessary to promote this title?
If The Laser's Edge provides the ad and will only provide that with those titles, I'd understand because I realize how important the ad revenue is. If not, well... is there anything you can do about it?

Other than this, I love the site, the reviews, the people, etc. Good job!

Michael,

Thanks for the kind words about our site.

Actually, Lasers Edge has nothing to do with
the selection of box covers used in the ad on
the top of the forum page. Those choices are
made by Parker.

Parker is away this weekend, but I am confident
that he had no idea about the aspect ratio of these
releases when he posted those covers. Had he known
he would have refrained from using them as
advertisement material.

Within the next day or two he will most likely
remove the advertised cover(s).
