It has been years since I played AD+D, and even longer since I DM'd a game. It has always been a problem finding dependable people to campaign with; players who could role-play and problem solve with more than swords and fireballs - or even just show up for that matter.

This forum, however, seems filled with high potential adventurers, many who are self-described former nerds. (or not so former in my case) I think it highly probable that a band of adventurers may be found here.

It'd be good to have a single night where we could play for a few hours online. There is a great resource at http://www.webrpg.com for RPGs like AD+D. I am familiar with it, but rusty.

My preference is character development. There is some hacknslash, but I also reward role playing with experience. ex - instead of trying to slay the red dragon, urging the party to try to bargain with it...

My campaigns are ongoing and develop the world as your characters develop. Played well you may become key figures in that worlds history.... or just forgotten footnotes.

If you are interested in playing post a message here. This is only open to HTF members and their guests. A group of 6 adventurers is about ideal. Any more will either be put on a waiting list or assisted in organizing their own campaign. I can only run one at a time.

If you are interested please post or PM with your age, preferred character class/race, and nights that are good for you. You may list more than one of each, but we only play on one night with one character each. If we get enough people who match we'll get started soon. I will forward your character and their history to you, but you will roll for their attributes on the first night - Well, sorta, you'll see.

I for one am 35 and good any nights but Wednesday. I prefer Thursdays at 9EST. There may be occasions that prevent someone from attending. Occasions are acceptable. (Though don't be surprised to find on return your character fighting a terrible case of orc-flu!)

Here is a history of the world called Aura.

A good party will have at least
    2 fighter class
    1 thief
    1 mage
    1 cleric
1 optional, though archer (ranged fighter) preferred.

Players should own the PHB. I will ask for your email address via PM later.

ALL TIMES ARE ASSUMED TO BE EASTERN STANDARD

I would love to join in on this kind of thing, but there are some problems. [IMG]

    1. Timezones.
    2. Time in general.

Also, I have to ask you what edition it is? Because I only play 3rd edition now.

Please keep me updated on what you figure out... [IMG]

Isn't there an RPG feature in Neverwinter Nights that allows a GM to take friends through a module online?

This sounds like a lot of fun. I wish I had the time to participate.

While I agree that tactics other than kill kill kill improve game play, I always thought that the idea of reasoning with a dragon was a bit lame.

Nice dragon, nice dragon, come 'ere, nice dragon. [IMG]

All times should be eastern standard, sorry, my bad.

Time is 2 hours/week. Not bad, about the same length as a movie.

I am sad, only three hits? Maybe posting on a Saturday was a bad idea? Are there any adventurers out there or will this thread just die from here?....

I've recruited some players from another board and I thought I see if there was any remaining or new interest here before we kick off...
