Adult movies - Widescreen w/ Surround? (1 Viewer)

The wife and I enjoy watching an adult movie once in a while and I want one in wide screen with surround sound. Do they make xxx movies in that format? I am not looking for anything crazy just some normal straight man and woman stuff. I feel obligated to say that seeing as there is a lot of, what I consider to be, crazy porn out there.

**Also I tried to search for this topic but the only thread I found on it was from 2002. I figured a lot of stuff has changed since that time.

I don't know about widescreen but surround sound, even DTS, has been around in porno DVD for several years.

My limited experience is that they mostly use it for doing cheesy effects with that cheesy porno synth music.

Paul I have some movies by adam&eve that were made in 2001 that have DTS. I don't find that the quality is very good at all. I understand that I am not going to get AOTC style surround sound but I just want something decent.

Brandon I don't have big balls but I also don't have a picture of my wife in my thread. So I don't feel embarrassed because you don't know what either one of us look like. I'm a tough guy when you can't pick me out of a crowd.

Porno pushes technology. Look at what it did for the video tape and the internet in its infancy. Now porno pushes the DVD technology as it's one of the only consistent genres that uses multi-angle and other features extensively.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page there is a link to all the 16:9 releases, though you'll probably not find so many with DD/DTS.

Surround sound and wide screen?! A friend of mine got a shipment in the mail recently and he said that it looked like someone actually videotaped porn playing on a T.V. and put it on DVD.

I'm pretty sure that's what he told me..

I only watch the stuff from Budapest, the Private stuff whenever I feel like watching one(the women are gorgeous - I have a female friend whos in love with Michelle Wild)

Theyre usually in widescreen.

I cant tell you about the sound, because I usually play music while I watch them.

Sort of on topic, I've often thought it would be cool if Criterion issued some of the classics of the theatrical porn era. I find it fascinating that there was a time when porn was shot on film, played in regular theaters, and was advertised alongside mainstream films in the newspaper. Films such as Behind the Green Door, Barbara Broadcast , and The Opening of Misty Beethoven are recognized as having some artistic merit, and it is believed that the makers of these films were honestly trying to make films of substance.

All matters of political correctness aside, I do think that this is an important moment in the history of cinema deserving of preservation.
