I am planning to build an HT this winter. We already have a Bluray DVD - Yamaha BD-S667 that can stream from the Internet.
I have a Windows 7 PC that could be connected to the system. It supports HDMI.
Would the HDMI connection go to the TV or some other component?
Is HDMI the best way to connect the PC to the audio?
We're not interested in games, so what would be the advantage of using Media Center?
When we upgrade to digital cable service we're thinking of getting their DVR service. Would that duplicate what the Media Center does?
I've looked at various Microsoft sites and they all assume readers know answers to these basic questions.

Ok, so you already have a bluray player and it streams from the net. Also you are getting cable so it will have a multitude of programing. If you are not interested in gaming, and you don't have a movie collection on your PC than it seems not worth hooking up to the system. Media Center just organizes your media files and makes them accessible through a easy to use menu.
