I use a Pioneer VSX series Dolby Pro receiver. It has pre out for all the channels. I was considering the Adcom GDD-1 to get dolby digital. Does anyone have any comments on the GDD-1? Is there another external processing unit (new or used)that would serve much the same function- to compare it with? Somthing w/DTS maybe -EX? Just wondering!
By the way, it has to be reasonably priced, no use sticking a Porsche motor in a Honda.........

    Other stuff...
    Proac 3.5 main speakers
    Definitive center & surrounds
Homebuilt sub w/ Hafler 200 amp
Electrohome ECP projector w/ AVT3700 video proc

Try one of the Technics SHAC500 for sale on Ebay. They go for about $125-150 and will do DD and DTS.

I got a SH-AC500D off of ebay and it makes a huge difference. I don't have a movie in DTS to test, but the dolby digital is great. Thanks Nick. A nice upgrade for $150.00 bucks.
