Rebhorn, who I always confused with Raymond Barry. Good actors both.

He's played some great d-bag characters over the year, with his Secretary of Defense in Independence Day being perhaps the pinnacle of d-baggery.

Never remembered his name, but always appreciated his work wherever he appeared. RIP.

Always liked his work, I'll miss seeing him pop up in new films.

For those of us who grew up with early 90s live action Disney movies, he was the father in their classic "Blank Check". (It probably hasn't aged well, but man was that like the most awesome thing ever when I was a kid.)

I always enjoyed his work, and will very much miss seeing him in new episodes. Another great character actor taken from us.

He was very good at what he did. Basic character roles, but he did them well.

Will always remember him from Independence Day and the phrase "plausible deniability". Just stuck in my mind and he was great in that part.

RIP Mr. Rebhorn

Could we also get the thread title edited to have the correct spelling of his name?

Lol...my brother always confused him with Ed Lauter. RIP too, Ed.

Always a fan of James Rebhorn. Great turn on Homeland as Carrie's father and his roles as the DA in Carlito's Way and the CRS exec in The Game stand out for me.

R.I.P. James Rebhorn. I think the first movie I saw him in was Scent of a Woman.

Side note, the late Blake Snyder, who wrote Blank Check, put out some well-regarded screenwriting books (the "Save the Cat" series). They're a good read even if you're not a writer.

Rest in Peace, James Rebhorn! He will definitely be missed.

I remember most recently from White Collar, but I can remember being so annoyed with him in the Seinfeld finale, and part of the reason why I hated it.

Yeah, typo in the title ;( Blah!
Does the original poster have to make an official request to get the thread title corrected? I'd like to see it changed ASAP out of respect for the deceased.

I've done it days ago. See above. I even flagged the post.
