Anyone had any experience with sonic differences between listening to your speakers with the grilles on/off?

I have done minor testing and I can't really tell a difference, but my mind tells me there is one.

So... does it just come down to pure aesthetics?

Some manf suggest removing them before critical listening. Others manf dont specify. Other grills are fixed and are not removable, and sometimes grills/fabrics can be implemented to tame a hot top end (by design)

As always, ears of the beholder.

Thanks guys. I'll just leave them on, I have no desire to replace drivers anytime soon.
