Acoustic Research ARS500 (1 Viewer)

I am really wanting to upgrade my subwoofer. Currently I'm using the sub from...please, nobody laugh...an Aiwa bookshelf system :b So, I've been looking for an Acoustic Research ARS500 for the past year. I cannot find them for a decent price. They normally go for $500, but the lowest I can find them is on the yahoo shopping sites for around $700. Anyone know where I can get one of these for the normal $500?

Matt,

The ports in every sub I have ever seen are glued and
pressed into a hole in MDF. What exatctly makes you think
the ARS500 is poor quality? Because of damage caused by
poor shipping practices? i think if you read the reviews
on AudioReview you will see the 500 is damn hard to compete
with at the low prices of $500.00 to $700.00 I own all AR
High Res components (no sub though) and nothing I can find
on any of them denotes poor quality, quite the contrary my
mains measure in at 65 pounds each and I say that's pretty
darn heavy for thier size.

But hey to each his or her own.
