    Ok, sometime last week IE 5.5 decided to open new windows completely minimized out somewhere on my screen. I know how IE likes to remember how you last opened your windows and at what size you set them, but I cannot reset this. Nothing lets me choose a larger default new window.

    Anyone have a suggestion?

    Thanks.

    This should have been posted in the Computer forum...
    Close all instances of Internet Explorer.
    Open the Registry Editor (regedit).
    Find this key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Internet Explorer -> Main -> Window Placement
    Delete it.
    If you screw up your PC by mucking with the registry, I offer no warranty. [IMG]

    I don't know if this will work, but it just might...What happens when you double click on My Computer? Does the window open in a visable location on screen? If so then you can just convert it into an internet browser by typing in a web address in the "Address" field (where it says "My Computer"). Then maximize it and hopefully the next time you open IE it will open in a maximized window.

    Give it a shot.

    What's wrong with that registry idea? Should work just fine if you are careful and don't delete stuff you shouldn't.
    Of course, you can always try another browser...
