plugging in:

sunfire htg II preamp w/ HT PRO AC11 cord

sony dvp-9000es dvd w/ HT PRO AC11 cord

option 1:

straight to pass & seymour silver plated AC outlet or

option 2:

straight to monster HTS1000 surge protector which plugs in p&s AC outlet

does it make a difference and why?
