First time poster, long time lurker. I am about to buy my first system.
    Marantz SR 5200
    Toshiba 2710
    Paradigm Atom - fronts
    Paradigm Micro - rear
    PDR 10 - Sub
Total cost, including stands and wires (Monster) under $2000 CDN. (Approx $1250 US). I have been doing some reading and lurking, and feel this would be a good system for my first. I will not be buying a new TV until the basement is finished (2 years?) so for now this will be in the family room just off the kitchen. Current tv is a 27" Sony (8 years old). Any comment or suggestions would be welcome as I have not as yet made the final commitment.

Sounds like a good setup. The 5200 will be a great receiver. I have the 6200 and I am very happy with it.
I'd recommend just getting 4 Atoms instead of the Micros. The Micros are just too small, and the Atoms don't cost that much more. My original setup was Titans as mains and Atoms as rears, but I returned the Atoms and got a second pair of Titans for the rear.
What about the center channel? CC-170 is a good speaker, and matches perfectly with the Atoms.

Yup, I forgot, the center is the CC-170. See, I told you I was new to this game.

New to the game, but it sounds like a very good way to start. [IMG]
