I love the Space Battleship Yamato films. I have them all on VHS, but they are starting get a bit ragged. At the Starblazers website, some of the films are for sale (Space Battleship Yamato, Farewell Space Battleship Yamato, The New Voyage). How is the quality on these? Any special features? Aspect ratio?

    Any help is appreciated.

Aaron, it helps to do a forum search once in a while. [IMG]

    This thread might help:

Ironically, I have yet to see any of the feature films. I'm just a big fan of Matsumoto's style. Still waiting for the cash cow to stroll down my way... [IMG]

Jeff, if you did a search for "Space Battleship Yamato" or "Yamato" it would have popped up. The search does interior text unless you tell it not to.

I have tried many times to work with Voyager Entertainment. And after about 8 years of trying, I've given up on them totally. Last I checked, it was run by an old couple who really don't know the business at all, or what the fans want. When I mentioned Nishizaki's arrest, they gasped in horror that I knew about that, and made threatening noises about not spreading it around (gee, it was on the front page of every major Japanese newspaper) The rights to Yamato are an absolute disaster, not that I expect they'd do much better even if they weren't.

Bottom line- There are fansub scripts out there for all the Yamato movies, and coupled with an HTPC, you can enjoy Yamato in all its anamorphic glory [IMG]

Do you know any sites where I can find these? Also where could I get anamorphic versions of the films? Especially, Final Yamato.
