Hi all.. I'm a bit confuse about the HD receivers. I thought the Direct tv or Dish satellite receivers can receive OTA. Or is it just some receivers that can receive OTA and some do? And is there just a regular OTA receiver that can do HD?

Which is better satellite or OTA? Anyone in Phoenix area who's using OTA receivers?

thanks for any info,
Bry

You get two different types of programming with sat and OTA. Satellite will get you HBO HD, Showtime HD, HD PPV, HD Net (D*), Discovery HD (E*), HD Demo (E*) and CBS HD in some locations (E*). This is also where you will hopefully get ESPN HD when it comes in March. OTA is how you will get your locals in digital if they are on the air. Most of the networks are in HD with Fox doing 480p. From reading over at AVS Forum, I think some of the Phoenix stations are reluctant to switch to HD.
