I used to have the Firefox Abe Vigoda extension.. it just said "alive". But now that I didn't have it we lose him. :(

FISH was one of my favorite shows as a kid, even over Barney Miller. I remembered that while catching up. Well, maybe now they will give us the rest of the show.

lol: good reading ...

Someone commented, I think this signifies is the beginning of the end of times. Someone replied, "you're thinking of Betty White". :D

We just heard this while with friends at dinner. It's ironic that my wife and I just watched The Godfather a couple of days ago, and are watching Part II this evening.

RIP, Mr. Vigoda.

Deepest condolences to his family and friends - will always remember for his role in "The Godfather". Short but memorable!

I was watching the Godfather Epic on HBO last week.

He was a really good sport about the misinfo on being alive.

Btw I liked my thread title better. Not sure why someone changed it.

Abe Vigoda was one of my favorites. From The Godfather to Fish, and everything in between.

He was blessed with a long and productive life.

May he rest in peace.

Of course, Abe Vigoda was nearly as famous for periodically being reported as having died, as for his role in THE GODFATHER; and as Fish on BARNEY MILLER (Which is how I mainly remember him!) and his spinoff sitcom FISH!

This article details the first time Abe's death was first reported while he was appearing in a play in Calgary: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/abe-vigoda-death-calgary-1982-1.3421212

The man had a great sense of humor, no doubt about it! :)

CHEERS! (Because I suspect that's how Abe would have wanted it!) :)

wait... are we absolutely sure this time...? I mean...really sure...?

The story of his audition for Barney Miller is very funny. He was Fish at the audition. (from wikipedia)

Danny Arnold and Ted Flicker, the producers, look at me, I look at them, they look at me again. "You look tired."

"Of course I'm tired, I jogged five miles this morning, I'm exhausted."

"Yeah, yeah, tell me, you look like you have hemorrhoids."

"What are you, a doctor or a producer?

priceless.

Dane Cook tweet: "I met Abe Vigoda at a urinal. He was so kind. I told him I loved his work and he said, 'right now?' His portrayal of Sal Tessio! RIP sir."

I saw that the AMPAS Facebook page paid tribute to him. I wonder if that means they'll acknowledge him in the Oscars In Memoriam next month. I hope they do include him, and Alex "Moe Greene" Rocco as well.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff...

Failing that, I hope they'll both be included in the In Memoriam at the 2016 Screen Actors' Guild Awards.
