What was the title of the movie (i've searched the IMDB to no avail) where there was a ocean liner race. I really believe WC Fields starred in it. His ship had giant propellers on deck to propel the ship faster. I remember it was a pretty old movie but entertaining!

It's possibly The Big Broadcast of 1938. I only saw this once, and a long time ago, but I think that's what you're looking for. It has W.C. Fields in the film, though I wouldn't call it a W.C. Fields movie.
