I have a LOT of DVD movies and was considering buying an older mult-disc player (maybe Sony) so that I could watch these. In looking around the internet it seems like now there and methods of storing movies on a server (remote or in-home?) and being able to watch the movies on any TV in the house. This sounds great!

My questions are as follows (if you can help me):

1. Can I somehow load the DVD movies I own on to some type of device? Do I need some type of software to convert them for this?
2. If I can get my movies loaded, do I need to buy a PC for a server and what software(s) do I need to buy / have?
3. How can I access the movies on a TV in my home. Do I do this through our home network and can it be wireless?

Let me know your thoughts and I appreciate you looking at this!

That's a question with many answers. HTF has a SECTION devoted to the subject, with many threads on different aspects, but you might start with THIS ONE.
