I don't know about you, but I haven't had a slow DVD year since 1996. ;)

There are plenty of titles that I don't see myself passing up, but chief among them will be the Animatrix DVD, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Theatrical, TTT Extended Cut, and whatever nice catalog releases will be coming.

The Chaplin special editions from Warner-MK2 are alone going to make me think of new purchasing strategies.

I already purchased Metropolis: Restored, Watchable Edition, Goldfinger: SE, Sunset Blvd., FOTR: EE, MST3K: Collection 1, The Producers, The Thin Man, and The Complete Goofy.

It looks like I'll be getting...

City Lights: SE
The Great Dictator: SE
The Circus/A Day's Pleasure: SE
The Gold Rush/Pay Day: SE
The Kid/The Idle Class: SE
The Chaplin Revue/Shoulder Arms, The Pilgrim, and A Dog's Life: SE
A Woman of Paris/Sunnyside: SE
Limelight: SE
A King In New York: SE
Around the World in Eighty Days
The Adventures of Robin Hood
Casablanca: SE (if it has an Ebert commentary)
The Jazz Singer (1927)
Vitaphone Collection (rumored)
Sunrise (eventually...)
The Day The Earth Stood Still
Song of Bernidette
The Mark of Zorro
MST3K: Vol 2
MST3K: Vol 3
Phantom of the Opera: 2-disc Photoplay Edition
Nosferatu: Photoplay Edition

Just to name a few...

I have a bunch to get too but I'm not complaining. Here's what I'm planning on getting until July 1st.

--Jackass: The Movie
--Friday After Next
--Who Framed Roger Rabbit: Vista Series
--Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
--The Transporter
--Speed Racer: Volume 1
--Super Mario Bros.
--3 Ninjas
--The Animatrix
--About Schmidt
--Gangs of New York

For the rest of the unanounced:

--Both Brady Bunch flicks
--Daredevil
--Willard (2003) (give the movie some respect and see it before it goes off!)
--Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Extended
--The Matrix: Reloaded
--The Hulk

and a bunch more I'm sure by the end of the summer just to save space.

All in all a very good year for DVD:emoji_thumbsup:

Man I had 2003 planned as a slow year for buying new DVDs. These are the only ones that I planned on getting:

Die Another Day
LOTR: TTT (theatrical and extended)
The Indiana Jones Trilogy (if it ever comes out)
The Matrix Reloaded
Alien Quadrilogy (maybe)

I know for a fact that I'll end up buying more than these - once you start buying DVDs you cannot stop :).

I feel your financial pain. I started buying DVDs in June 1999 and have already passed the 600 mark a few weeks ago....with over 250 DVDs purchased in the last year alone! I've purchased 19 in the last 2 weeks, and have over 50 on my "Wish List".

Thank God for DVD Profiler.

And there's the "War and Remembrance - Volume 1&2"
Still havn't decided if I should get them ...

Addicts, you're all ADDICTS.

. . .My name is Justin, and I'm an addict.

Though my upcoming list isn't that comprehensive, most of you have hit the nail on the head. If I can get review copies of Family Guy and Futurama, and maybe Harry Potter and Roger Rabbit, that would help.

Yeah Jeff
I was thinking about that. How much longer are they ? And they are restored as well. But how different is the story ?
Also they are a little exspensive and only 4 episodes per disc.

The worst (or best) thing is that More and More titles come out every day.

Remember back in the late 90's when there wasn't a big selection and you could go a few weeks without wanting anything. ;)

This past month for me was slow. I Picked up a couple of movies and some sci-fi tv show stuff that came out. But looking ahead things are starting to pick up again. Just when you think you know whats coming a new release is announced for movies and other tv shows.
