I've just about wrapped up construction of the HT in my basement. This weekend was the first time I've really been able to truly listen to the sound quality (with the big screen blown, I'll have to wait for a new TV before I can comment on the pictures) of my new system. I have to say that being someone who has never had a decent system before, I was flat-out blown away by the quality of the sound. My most familiar CDs have portions I've never even heard before! Even with my modest system, I'm stunned. Here's my setup:
Monitor:Hitachi (RIP)
Receiver/Amp:Sony STR-DE675
Mains: BIC Muro M-60 in-wall
Surrounds:BIC Muro M-SR6 in-ceiling
Subwoofer:JBL PB12 Subwoofer
Center: Polk CS245
DVD Player:Sony NS300S (optical connection)
CD Player:Sony CDP-CX400 400 Disc Changer (optical connection)
So, to all of you who helped me in the past few weeks with problems, thank you. I know it was worth it now.
Now if I can only figure out how to afford a new HDTV...
