    Hello:

I noticed that some web sites do accept electronic bank transfers (e-check), but is it safe or cheap as PayPal or otherwise?

One last thing: am I using the appropriate term for a form of payment where you place your back account and routing numbers to pay something?

Generally they are free, unless the site is using Paypal and then the charge would be on them usually. The site should state whether or not there is a fee. As for safe, it is no more or less safe than using a credit card, the numbers are still being encrypted and sent over the net. And yes, that would be the correct term. Also if you have direct deposit, it's the same process.

    What Chris said...

It's safe (I remember reading it's safer to use online then it is in B&M sotres), just don't use it stupidly.
