Robert, I'm curious if product improvement has changed your outlook on this issue.
My Oppo 983H passes all of Secrets tests and makes SD DVD's look very good for $400.
I can't get excited about video digital processing in receivers yet but a lot of the remaining problems seem to be software and 'rush to market' errors rather than lack of cost effective chipsets. If next year's chipsets such as the ABT 2010 are correctly programmed (I know -- hehe! ) we'll be closing in on cost effective video solutions -- won't we?
