House gets struck by lightning. Blows thru all the surge protectors. Sad Tale. But that leads me to the advice. I had a Pioneer 6100hd TV, Yamaha RX-v100 receiver, Velodyne sub, B&W 603 s2, B&W cc6s2. I now have a check to replace these items. Should I go with the 60 inch Kuro Signature, Yamaha rx-z11, B&W 800 series speakers. I liked it but because I thought it was nice I dont know if this is all good together. Also do you all have any advice. I typically just do stupid things like bigger is better and it doesnt always work out so I thought Id ask for some advice/opinion?

Thanks

Mike

Oh yeah thanks for the other advice. I will take it all into account. lol

We got to see the Kuros in the Pioneer Lounge in Hollywood. They were gorgeous of course and the Black Levels "out of the box" beats anything I've seen, but they are very $$$. If you have the cash for it go nuts but personally I've always been a bang-for-the-buck kinda guy rather than must-have-the-best-at-any-cost kind. I'm also a projector guy rather than flat panels in my living room, tho I do have a consumer level 37" LCD in the office which is fine for my needs as well (gaming mostly)

As for the receiver and speakers, I cn't help ya there, its been years since I bought my kickass Denon receiver and 10+ years I've had my Paradigm speakers and I dont envision replacing them for another 10, tho I have been tempted by the awesome SVS subs!

Also, should probably move this to a hardware forum.

Wow. Going from the B&W 603 to the 800's is a big jump (in sound and money). Have you listened to the new 68x's? They have the Kevlar mids in them now just like the 800s.

I recently went from a smaller Velodyne sub to a mammoth SVS. I suggest you check them out.

The Yamaha looks nice, but if you are going to invest that much in the AVR, why not get separates (especially if you go with the 800's)?

Well I already have the 6100 pioneer that got nailed by the lightning. I love the picture quality so I am hooked. My brother in law has the drop down screen and the projector which is a larger image and looks great but I cant get away from watching Planet Earth on the Pioneer it was astounding. I dont know about the SVS Subs so going to do the research on them tonight thanks for the heads up. I also am unfamiliar with Denon components only have used the Yamaha so will check them out as well. Thank you for your reply I really apreciate it.
