I've thought about picking up the existing DVD of A League of Their Own. It can be found for under $15 and it's supposed to have a very good anamorphic transfer (though no extra features, which normally doesn't concern me all that much - just give me the movie!).

Then what's stopping me? This movie just cries out for a companion documentary on the history behind the film. Is there any chance that a Special Edition is being considered? This is one of the rare cases where I would pay "extra" for the extra features.

I thought about holding off on this one as well for similar reasons, but I was going to pick it up if it had a good transfer, just needed to do some research. Though it deserves more, it may not get more for some time. I can't imagine ALoTO is a significant seller right now.

I'd buy an SE, but if the transfer is good on the current edition, I'll pick up that. I just did the same with "The Birdcage" last week.
