"A League of Their Own" Laserdisc: HBO Making of? (1 Viewer)

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone remembers this...

I just purchased the A League of Their Own laserdisc with documentary and I was almost positive that it had the "making of" from HBO with cast member interviews on it. Instead, it's just a typical documentary about the real individuals portrayed in the movie. Was that HBO documentary ever released??

No, it's not. That's a brand new documentary. I've seen the back of the box.

Craig, I don't have it anymore, but I used to to have the disc you are talking about. The documentary you mentioned is the correct one. This was produced for or aired on PBS, I believe, and after Penny Marshall viewed it, she became interested in doing a film about about the league. Many scenes in the movie were inspired directly from the documentary footage. I have my fingers crossed that it will be included in the forthcoming special edition release. I think it is a wonderful documentary and I kick myself now for parting with the laserdisc.
