This past week has been a great week for new album releases...to me the best week I can remember in a while...new albums from Peter Gabriel, Jackson Browne, Beck, Ryan Adams, Steve Earle, Rhett Miller (of Old 97's)...that is almost too much for one week. Too much for the wallet anyway..although I bought five of the six above (holding out on Steve Earle). The Peter Gabriel, Beck, and Rhett Miller albums are all fantastic. Haven't even listened to Ryan Adams or Jackson Browne yet.

Anyone else experience new music overload this past week? Are there other album releases I missed?

I picked up the new Beck and the new Ryan Adams, haven't gotten to either yet. Finally got the new Flaming Lips too.

There's also a re-released Lou Reed 2 CD set of Lou doing half standup comedy (sort of) and the other half rock songs. I had this in my hands but then put it down. I'll have to get this sooner or later.

The new Ryan Adams release "Demolition" is an amazing effort. Ryan recorded most of these songs as first takes. They are the best of a bunch of songs he's recorded over the last few years. He wanted to release 4 albums worth of these songs, but his record company convinced him to put together one album with the best ones.

The man is a song writing machine.

I haven't bought any new, new music this week, but I've been buying a lot of new old stuff. There is just way too much music out there to buy. [IMG]

    Brian,
Same here. As much as I tell myself that I should lay low, I always have an urge to shop for CDs. It's an addiction. [IMG]
    Mike,
I think there is a new King Crimson EP coming...or something. Have you heard about it? When will it be out? [IMG]
