But is it the same transfer that's available in Germany and France? Easy to tell - are the main titles windowboxed?

We asked the tech folk at MGM/UA to address the issue of the "window boxed" titles and we learned this week they have indeed gone back and fixed that part of the transfer. This will allow us to put it on the schedule for early 2016.

Will the transfer itself be different from those released in other countries, other than the corrected titles?

OK here is the big question--Are we talking about 35mm elements or Panavision 70? [which I doubt]

Good news indeed. In a recent TCM HD showing the sound was unremarkable at 2.0 stereo. Since EXODUS was originally filmed in 70mm with a 6 track stereo sound will the sound be upgraded to 5.1? Also, I was not sure of the color scheme of the Saul Bass main titles as they were of a teal color vs the blue that I thought they were.

The MGM/UA HD transfer was done in the mid-2000s and taken from the 35mm elements. Quite often it seems, when MGM/UA do a new transfer of a 70mm with 6-track stereo sound source, a la KHARTOUM for example, they seem to abandon the multi-track and boil it down to a standard 2.0. This happens over and over again. Not sure about the color as the teal vs blue debate is clearly going to run and run.

Our EXODUS blu-ray will be the best it can be under the aforementioned circumstances - we always try to go the extra yard and do whatever we can with sound and music to improve that end, and make sure the PQ is presented at the highest bitrate possible.

So it appears that the transfer, other than titles will be pretty much the same as the Aussie release....

I can confirm that the "Shock" Australian BRD has the opening credits in windowbox format.

They may very well be -- we haven't yet accessed the music elements.

If the original music tracks were found ...now that would be something indeed! Good hunting.

Looking forward to this release. Hey, I'm still flying high over the unexpectedly jaw-dropping transfer of FIRST MEN IN THE MOON. It had a couple people ask me if my TV was one of those "UHD things". (It's not) Yes, I know that MGM won't do a 4K scan on EXODUS, but I have yet to be disappointed in a TT release. (I haven't seen NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD though!)
