I saw this, and I had to post it. I went by my local Wal-Mart the other night. You know how they have the lighted letters that spell "Wal-Mart" on the building? Well, the L and T were burnt out. It spelled "Wa -Mar ". If you don't get it, MAR stands for modified aspect ratio (aka full screen). I thought it fit in perfectly with Wal-Mart. [IMG]

Now whoever deciphers what the "WA" part symbolizes gets a cookie.

Actually, Wal-Mart is usually pretty good about carrying both versions....at least the ones I've been to in Georgia.

Some of the rental places I USED to go to wouldn't, however. Even when I asked each time a dual-release came out, they'd just stick to full frame.

At least Wa-Mar doesn't make an overtly silly word. It's funny to see Food Lion become "Foo Lion" at night.

The best one was the old Bullocks chain of clothing stores. Some wag was always going up and putting a cross member across the two "l"s....

That's about as good as the marquee at McDonalds once read: Now hiring closers, but someone stole the c the first night the letters were up.

There's a local Honda dealership in my area called "Action Honda". The "nda" was burned out.

Oh, and I thought MAR stood for mutilated aspect ration. Seems more appropriate then the more benign modified [IMG]

Getting way off topic now, but one neon sign here read "ENTER HERE," but the last "E" didn't light up at night...
