I have to agree, the first few seasons were great, but by the third in my opinion it faltered, and the fourth left me baffled. (of course I am not the sharpest tool in the shed). I liked that at the end of the 4th season they showed that they were heading back to its origins, hopefully for a grand finale, but one we now will never see. HBO should do the fans right and do a wrap up movie for the fans. A little closure that explains things would be highly viewed and make a lot of good will toward HBO' (and Corporate America as well) I understand that an expensive show that doesn't perform well anymore probably should be canceled, but the faithful fans who made them money early on deserve some respect and a token offering so no one leaves with a bad taste in their mouth. It is called customer appreciation, something plainly lacking in the world today.

If I have not watched any of Westworld yet, and am contemplating it, does season four end with all kinds of unresolved issues that will annoy the viewer? Or does it come to some sort of satisfactory conclusion?
This is my take FWIW: The first two seasons are really worth viewing, and in my experience/opinion they each conclude their own story arc at the end of each season (provided you watch the season at least twice to catch all the threads you miss the first time through).

I agree with all who say the third season felt off track, and I never saw the 4th (but RAH's comments intrigue me to give it a try). But I'm fine with taking season 2 as the end of the story for me. The next 2 seasons ... not needed but bonus from my point of view.

So I think season one can stand alone, and season 2 can as well (but you need to see season 1 first for #2 to make any sense). And if the story is too puzzling for your tastes, as Robert Harris pointed it is a visual treat, and the acting top notch. Not to mention the score that underpins and defines so much of the mood.

Westworld Season 1 is one of the best single-seasons of TV and worth watching even if you never watch subsequent seasons.

I will just add that The Peripheral (also by the Nolans) seems to be going down this same path.
Agreed. Needs to not be so cryptic. I give it a 50/50 chance to make season 2. If there is no season two, I will not buy a Blu-ray set. Too frustrating. I need at least 2 good seasons before I plop down my cash for a better transfer than streaming to rewatch.
