For anyone with even a basic knowledge of American cinema toward the end of the twentieth century, the cast of Peter Segal's Tommy Boy reads like a "best of" American thespians - Chris Farley, David Spade, Bo Derek. with a (short) assist from Brian Dennehy.
Tech credits abound, with Victor Kemper behind the camera, and a score by David Newman.
While I've never found absolute proof, there had been rumors that this film had been based upon a drama penned by none other than Herman J. Mankiewicz. Just adapted a bit.
For its 30th anniversary Paramount has created a stunning 4k UHD release that's reference quality.
Look for Dan Aykroyd, Julie Warner, who lend a helping hand, and of course Rob Lowe as Paul Barish.
Tommy Boy is a film that's bigger than life, and has finally been given 4k and the Steelbook case it has always so justly deserved.
