To avoid future regrets....the Connery Bond steelbook set from the UK has all the extras on 8 Blu-ray discs.
The U.S. version has all the extras as download codes.
UK = 8 4K DISCS, 8 Blu-ray DISCS
US = 8 4K DISCS, 8 Paper Codes
You mean 6 discs, right?
Shame that they compel you to get the steelbooks to get the extras on disc.
I wanted the regular edition!

Are we sure the extras are not on the 4k discs too?

Are the blu-rays from the UK region B locked?

It has to be said though that the UK steelbook does not include the remastered blu-ray (like the US one), but the old one.
Although I don't use blu-ray if I have the 4k, I regretted buying the UK steelbook...

I bought the UK edition in the keepcase with slipcover (not the SteelBook). The Blu-ray there is indeed a copy of the 2010 disc with the badly edge-enhanced transfer.

Are we sure the US release has a remastered Blu-ray?

Thankfully, the 4K disc played all the way through for me without glitching or freezing, unlike a lot of other recent 4K titles. So, this isn't overly a concern for me at the moment, but I'm curious.

Hmm... I'm looking at an image of the SteelBook's back cover (or the paper backer that goes over it), and it lists the "Blu-ray Bonus Features" as being the exact same contents as the 2010 Blu-ray. Most times, that would suggest to me that it is just a copy of the older disc.

I suppose Disney could have ported over the same content from the old disc onto a new one with remastered video. That's not impossible, but it feels to me like most times they don't bother if they haven't created anything new.

Can anyone here who has the American SteelBook edition take a look at the Blu-ray? You can tell right away that it's the old disc if it immediately brings up a message warning that the disc may take 2-3 minutes to load and then launches into some trailers for forgotten movies from a couple decades ago. The menu system also notably looks different than the 4K disc's.

From Todd's review:
"And for those who have not upgraded to UHD Blu-ray player, the 1080p AVC encode was sourced from this new master."

Appreciated. Still, for my own peace of mind, if someone here could pop in the new Blu-ray and confirm that it does not launch into a trailer for an old Nicholas Sparks movie starring Miley Cyrus before the menu, that would really put this question to bed. Thanks. :)

I just checked, no trailers on the Blu-ray and the menu pretty much matches the 4K/UHD.

Thank you, Robert! That is indeed different than the Blu-ray that comes with the UK set.

Peace of mind achieved. :)

I'm a little disappointed I got the inferior backup disc, but I can live with it.
