If one happens to be a fan of Gary Cooper, as I am, or of director Robert Rossen, you may want to upgrade your Mill Creek Blu-ray of They Came to Cordura for one reason only.

The data throughput is up by 50% across the board.

As far as the transfer it's the same dirty picture that's been in release for years, from ancient master. In the end the image is better resolved along with the dirt and wear.

Color/densities are okay throughout.

Image – 3.25

Audio – 4.5

Pass / Fail – Pass

Works in projection - Yes

Works up-rezzed to 4k - Yes

Upgrade from Blu-ray - If you love the film

Robert, is your point of comparison the Mill Creek edition that shares a disc with The Man from the Alamo or the one from Mill Creek’s Rita Hayworth collection?

It is too bad the studio chopped it all up and Robert Rossen died when he was in the process of putting back to the way he intended it to be. I got this kino version during their last sale for cheap. I sill like the film a good bit.
