The Web, a 1947 noir from Universal, looks superb via Kino's new Blu-ray, and it offers the difference between surviving elements in comparison to Paramount from the era.
It's a set-up, or possibly it isn't, as Edmund O'Brien becomes a fixer of sorts of wealthy businessman Vincent Price.
William Bendix is the cop who has to figure out the angles, and Universal's contract player, Ella Raines, is on hand and lovely.
Directed by Michael Gordon, a name that may be unfamiliar (Cyrano de Bergerac, An Act of Murder, Pillow Talk, Boys' Night Out).
A quality film worth your attention.
