Great movie and yes we need more George Stevens on blu ray, especially THE MORE THE MERRIER for which Jean Arthur was up for Best Actress, possibly the only time this brilliant actress was nominated in this category. Earlier releases are flawed so a full restoration would be welcome.
The bad news re TALK for those who do not have 4K UHD players is that unlike nearly all other releases in this format there is NO blu ray disc in the case. Is this a tactic to sell more players to movie buffs?

Interesting the range of this man. From epics to westerns to melodramas to sophisticated comedies to one of the greatest musicals ever made. I still want to know what happened to that stupendous print of it I saw at the Gramercy.

I suspect the lack of a Blu-ray is because a) this is a (pressed) MOD 4K, and so far, all of Sony's MOD 4ks that I know of have just been the 4K disc plus digital code (compared to Warner Archive's one 4K of The Searchers, which is the 4K plus a remastered Blu-ray but no digital code) and b) it's long been rumored that Criterion may have licensed the film (although only for Blu-ray and DVD, which would likely mean that Sony has no reason to release a Blu-ray themselves).

Amazing looking disc. It's probably one of the least-seen great films of that period. I hope more people will watch it now (either 4K or digital). One of my personal favorites...top twenty-five all-time. Skip the commentary, though.

Love Ronald Colman. Especially, Random Harvest, The Prisoner of Zenda, The Late George Apley, A Double Life, Kismet, Lost Horizon, A Tale of Two Cities and Arrowsmith.
A couple of Colman films I'd like to see on disc are Under Two Flags and The Light that Failed.

We need the restoration by MoMA of Arrowsmith. It has restored most of the cut footage by the Code when the film was reissued. A lot of Loy was cut (naughty Myrna!).
I didn’t know the ARROWSMITH DVD was cut. I would DEFINITELY like to see the uncut film.

Champagne for Caesar (1950)

Big Ronald Colman fan!

Vincent Price steals almost every scene that he's in! Hilarious!

Only released on VHS and DVD. This film deserves at least a remastered Blu-ray.

One of my favorites.

And yet, nominated for 4 Oscars including Best Picture.
Yeah. It's a very impressive film; from the extraordinary imagery to the performances to the theme. Though I haven't seen it in 50 years, I remember thinking at the time it was one of Ford's best films of the 1930's. I think if Indicator or Criterion released it, it would get talked about again.

It's been a while for me too; I'm going to try to watch my 2005 DVD later this week.

Now $15.59 after 20% off coupon. Seems like another Amazon game of chicken where they reduce the price every few days until they jump the price back up. You don't know when they reach the bottom.

What is the coupon code? Or is it applied automatically at checkout?
I don't see anything. The price for me is $19.49.
